40 hour, 12-month/year position
6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday – Friday
SALARY RANGE: $4,747/month to $5,768/month in five annual steps

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, Facilities Planning, Maintenance, Operations and Transportation or designee, performs journey-level skilled work in various building/mechanical trades in the repair, construction and upkeep of District buildings, facilities and equipment; assists in other maintenance trade areas as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to: (1) An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus six (6) months to one year of related experience and/or training; or, (2) three (3) years of journey-level experience in the maintenance and repair of a variety of diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment and small engine repairs..
THE EXAMINATION: Applicants may be tested on proper methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the repair, construction and general upkeep in the building/mechanical trades, basic recordkeeping techniques, health and safety regulations, ability to lift objects and materials weighing fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move one hundred (100) pounds with assistance.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession and maintenance of a valid California
Driver’s License and a “tow motor” certification (within three months of employment in this classification).Insurability by the District’s insurance carrier.
