SALARY RANGE: $19.74/hour to $24.00/hour in five annual steps

THE POSITION: Under the direction of the assigned school principal, assists students in the acquisition, distribution, and collection of library books, resource materials, and textbooks. Assists students in learning library skills and research skills. Schedules use of the library, textbook distribution, and collection, textbook, and library book inventories as needed; performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school, college-level courses in library science and/or instructional media, and/or one year of experience in a public school library/media center in a clerical, resource or library assistant position.
LICENSES: Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver’s License, and
a reliable, insured motor vehicle for personal transportation.
THE EXAMINATION: Candidates may be examined on their knowledge of basic library materials and terminology, English usage, office methods, and procedures, ability to assist in instruction, ability to follow written and oral direction, and ability to get along well with students, teachers, parent volunteers, and other District staff.
